MAKRO and Associates Inc. was incorporated in April 2009 and established to create and provide a social enterprise environment of training / work experience for disadvantaged unemployed people in Gympie. Main target groups are youth, long term unemployed, indigenous, and socially excluded due to lack of training and work opportunities.

MAKRO has an impressive history of successfully applying for funds to run training and work experience projects, particularly in a community setting for disadvantaged learners.

In recent years we have run a Skilling Queenslanders for Work project at Avenues Disability Lifestyle Support agency where we had 10 participants who undertook construction work. Other programs have included Community Learning Programs for training and work experience in Hospitality, Aged Care, Disability, and, Rural Operations.

MAKRO is currently involved in the delivery of State Government funded (DET) Skilling Queenslanders for Work training and work experience projects in varous locations across Queensland for disadvantaged learners and disengaged youth.  Read More
